City of Ennis' New Branding Campaign

Ashley Colunga is the Marketing and Communications Director for the city of Ennis and has been in this position since August 2016.   She is part of the Economic Development team that offices in the Ennis Visitor Center in downtown Ennis.   This team is responsible for the economic prosperity and vitality of the city and is very busy with implementing many exciting projects including the downtown Master Plan.

She has been married since 2009 to her husband, Jordan, and they have two beautiful children, Brox and Lowe. Ashley and her family lived in Dallas until about 3 years ago when she decided to give her children the same small-town upbringing that she experienced in Ennis.  She and her husband built a farmhouse on family land in Ennis and she is thrilled to have returned to her roots.

Ashley graduated from UNT with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Marketing. She is a marketing guru and worked in advertising in downtown Dallas for 11 years with numerous clients including American Airlines and Travelocity before coming to work in Ennis.  Her last job before coming to the city was with The Marketing Arm as a Digital Account Director. Her prior marketing experience and her heart for the city she always called home made this position a natural fit. She was always a huge cheerleader for the city and attended all local events like the farmers market and other festivals throughout the year with her family.

Ashley is a natural leader and influencer in our community who works diligently to spread her enthusiasm and love for her community.  She is a team player and works serving the citizens of Ennis with a genuine smile.

TBM Ministries & Disaster Relief

Mickey has been actively involved with Texas Baptist Men since 1972. He became a fulltime staff member with TBM on March 15, 2006 as the Director of Resource Development. On January 1, 2008, he assumed the duties of the Associate Executive Director for TBM while continuing in his role as Director of Resource Development.

Before Mickey joined TBM, he was actively involved as a volunteer in many of the TBM ministries. During his high school and college summers, he was a Royal Ambassador State Staffer and Team Leader. He also worked as a TBM Young Men’s staffer assigned to Minnesota and Wisconsin. One summer, Mickey assisted Bob and Jean Dixon in planting a church in Saint Cloud, Minnesota as the Youth Director. He has also served as a member on the TBM Finance Committee and was elected Vice President for TBM Baptist Young Men.

He helped TBM Volunteers build the first Hospitality House in Huntsville near the prison during a 24 hour marathon session. He has been involved with several other building projects when the Retiree Builder’s were first being formed by TBM and Olen Miles. Throughout the 1980’s, he was part of the TBM Lay Renewals; and has participated in over 25 Lay Renewal Weekends as a Youth Coordinator or Team Member.

He grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and attended Texas A&M University. For 13 years, he was in the Financial Planning business in both Texas and Phoenix, Arizona. He married Sallie in 1988 and they have two wonderful sons, Ryan and Parker.
